Domaine 64, founded in 2021, is a solidarity agriculture project focused on organic winemaking and sustainable practices. The vineyard, symbolically divided into 64 squares like a chessboard, allows members to select their piece and support this eco-friendly initiative in the Moselle Valley.
Originally launched in collaboration with CARITAS Luxembourg, the project is now carried forward with HUT-Hëllef um Terrain, continuing its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable winegrowing. A key feature is the use of Ouessant sheep, Europe’s smallest sheep, for natural grazing. These sheep help reduce the CO2 footprint by keeping vegetation low without harming the vines.
Domaine 64 blends sustainability, regional authenticity, and the art of organic viticulture to produce exceptional wines. Each bottle reflects the shared passion for a greener future and the traditions of the Moselle wine region.
This pilot project is proudly supported by the ANF (Administration de la nature et des forêts) and the Biological Station SIAS (Syndicat intercommunal à vocation multiple). Expert guidance is provided by Dr. Jörg Pauly (winemaker, BSc. org. agri.) from IBLA (Institute for Biological Agriculture and Agrarian Culture Luxembourg), alongside Max and Ben Duhr from Domaine Mme Aly Duhr & Fils in Ahn. Their expertise ensures excellence in sustainable organic viticulture and professional vineyard management, helping Domaine 64 uphold its commitment to eco-friendly and responsible winemaking.
At Domaine 64, every bottle of organic wine is uniquely numbered by vineyard plot, creating a personal connection to your sustainable wine. In abundant harvest years, members receive more wine; in smaller harvests, the solidarity of eco-friendly viticulture ensures everyone shares equally.
Marked vineyard plots let members identify their symbolic piece, strengthening their bond with the Moselle wine region and its traditions of organic winemaking.
Domaine 64 hosts an annual grape harvest event in the vineyards of Rëmerschen, where members, along with friends and family, can enjoy a delightful day with food, drinks, and the charm of the Moselle wine region.
Throughout the year, members also come together to track progress in the vineyards and the wine cellar, fostering a deeper connection to the art of organic winemaking.
